Elizabeth Montez (she/her) is an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) based in Harbor Springs, MI. A citizen of Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, and first generation descendant of Forest County Potawatami, Elizabeth centers decolonization and sovereignty in her clinical lactation and education practices. She has a background in food justice and perinatal mental health, and brings those pieces to her clinical practice as well. Elizabeth currently runs a 95 hour lactation education and clinical mentorship program for rising lactation professionals of color in Washington state, she provides robust lactation education to midwifery students attending the Cedar Medicine School of Midwifery, and is the Michigan WIC Indigenous Breastfeeding Liaision, as well as frequently speaking for audiences at conferences and educational engagements across Turtle Island.
